This photo tutorial uses jelly adhesive tabs. Adhesive tabs are ideal for comfortable, reusable wear and easier removal. If you prefer nail glue, follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions and keep glue away from the skin.

What You Will Need

  • Your correctly sized Silstat Nails press-on nail set
  • A wooden cuticle stick
  • A fine nail file or gentle buffer
  • An alcohol wipe or lint-free pad with alcohol
  • Jelly adhesive tabs

How to Apply Press-On Nails

1. Gently Push Back the Cuticles

Start with clean, dry hands. Use the wooden cuticle stick to gently push back excess cuticle from each nail plate. This creates a clean application area and helps prevent the press-on nail from sitting on the skin.

2. Lightly Buff the Nail Surface

Use the fine side of the buffer to lightly remove surface shine. Buff gently—do not thin or over-file the natural nail. A softly matte surface helps the adhesive tab grip more evenly.

3. Remove Dust and Oil

Wipe each nail thoroughly with an alcohol pad to remove dust, oil and residue. Allow the nails to dry completely, and avoid touching the cleaned nail plates afterward.

4. Choose the Correct Jelly Tab Size

Compare the adhesive tabs with your natural nail and select one that covers most of the nail plate without touching the surrounding skin. If you are between sizes, choose the slightly smaller tab.

5. Apply and Press the Adhesive Tab

Place the jelly tab in the center of the natural nail, leaving a small gap from the cuticle. Press firmly from the center toward the edges to remove air pockets, then peel away the protective film.

6. Place the Press-On Nail at a 45° Angle

Align the press-on nail close to the cuticle without touching the skin. Lower it onto the nail plate at approximately a 45-degree angle so the base sits neatly and the nail remains centered.

7. Press and Hold Securely

Press firmly from the center toward both sides and hold for 20–30 seconds. Repeat on every nail. Avoid prolonged water exposure immediately after application so the tabs can form a secure bond.

How to Remove Press-On Nails Safely

Never pull or force a press-on nail off. For jelly adhesive tabs, soak the nails in warm soapy water with a little cuticle oil, gently loosen the edges with a wooden stick, and repeat the soak if needed. Lift each nail slowly.

If you used nail glue, use a remover suitable for that adhesive and follow its safety directions. Stop if removal feels painful or the natural nail begins to lift.

How to Reuse Your Set

  • Remove remaining adhesive carefully without scraping the design.
  • Let every nail dry completely.
  • Store the set in its original case, away from heat and direct sunlight.
